Kentainers has dispatched eight units of BlueFlame digesters to various locations, namely Nanyuki, Ngong town, Ngong Kibiko, Nakuru, Syokimau, Kasarani, GSU Ruaraka and Kilungu. Six of these digesters were purchased by the users while two are for KentainerÂ’s own testing. Field tests of BlueFlame biogas have begun and close monitoring is being carried out to ascertain performance. Biogas digesters are used to create biogas which is produced through the breakdown of organic or biodegradable matter in the absence of oxygen. It is more environmentally friendly than regular gas production and the output from the digester can be used as organic fertilizer.
