Considering that security is never constant, the Environment, Health and Safety Team headed by Michael Flemming decided to overhaul the access and visitor management procedures at Ramco Group Industrial Park. To achieve this, they had to look for an efficient system to regulate and document the flow and movement of staff and visitors, that was not seen as restrictive, led them to create a new access card management system with ICT Africa.
The first phase of the project kicked off in October 2018, where all the Human Resource Managers from the eight companies within Ramco Group Industrial Park came together to brainstorm. The standard template agreed upon for the system was that all employees have cards with a blue branded lanyard and contractors have yellow printed cards with blue lanyards. Visitors, on the other hand, have green printed plain cards with red lanyards. As of now, a total of 1457 cards (1341 for employees and 126 for visitors) have been printed as more companies within the Group get onboard with the system.
